When your employee does
not return to work.

Occasionally we find that an injured worker has not returned to work as expected and time might pass before a routine follow-up uncovers the problem. You, the employer, can help move the process along by notifying MAI as soon as a situation like this comes to your attention.

MAI strives to return injured workers to the job in a safe and timely manner right from the moment the claim is filed. First, we work with your injured workers to encourage them to obtain appropriate medical care as soon as possible. We communicate with the medical provider so that they understand the nature of the accident that caused the injury and follow-up to obtain the diagnosis and check to see that the treatment is appropriate to the injury. We also work with you, your injured worker, and their medical provider to facilitate a prompt return to work.

The sooner we know that an injured employee has not returned to work as expected, the sooner we can jump into the process and identify and solve the problem. Please call us if this happens in your workplace so that we can work together to help your injured employees.
